Another amazing effort from all of our schools in SCC’s sports marketing fantasy football league this season. Overall, our participating schools (25 different schools representing 15 different states) showed a lot of creativity while demonstrating a great understanding of the sports business principles that provide the foundation of our curriculum programs. Congratulations to Carolyn Province’s sports marketing class at Grapevine High School in Texas for winning our 3rd annual fantasy football sports marketing competition! The San Antonio Roughriders held a lead for the last few weeks and sealed the championship with an impressive response to our final sports marketing challenge (digital marketing). Way to go Roughriders!
Also, a really impressive finish from Nicole Rusch’s class at Pine Island HS in Minnesota (Orlando Ducks), ending up in second place. Both the Roughriders and Ducks will be rewarded with pizza parties to celebrate their accomplishments in this competition. Congrats to both schools on a job very well done.
Andy Rucker’s class at Vista Murrieta HS in California (Honolulu Surf) also had a great season, taking third place while Jason Koch and his students at Carl Sandburg HS in Illinois (London Guards) landed in fourth. In a photo finish, last year’s champions (Karen Russo’s class from Hinsdale Central HS in Illinois) edged out Lee Geffert’s class at Richardson HS in Texas by two points for fifth place. Excellent job from both the Omaha Outlaws front office (Hinsdale Central) and South Texas Wranglers (Richardson) all season.
A standing ovation is in order for ALL of our participating schools.  Students this year submitted some really amazing responses to our sports marketing challenges all season…such an impressive group of kids, no doubt the result of the efforts of some outstanding sports marketing teachers.  Kudos to all for a great season!
We have a few individual school shout-outs again for the response to challenge #6 and will have some individual school awards to distribute later this week.  Stay tuned! Continue reading
