Lesson Plan: COVID-19 Industry Impact (New)
In the spring, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, closing businesses and forcing consumers around the world to quarantine in their own homes. The sports and entertainment industry, like most businesses, was not immune, as leagues were forced to cancel or postpone seasons, leaving fans desperate for ways to consume their favorite sporting events. This PPT addresses the impact the health crisis had on the industry.

Lesson Plan: The Business of Fantasy Sports (New)
Fantasy football continues to explode in popularity. Anticipation might be higher than ever this season as the sports world waits to see if the NFL season will remain on track for this season.
Unit one of your textbook briefly touches on its impact on the growth of the sports industry and this brief PPT detailing fantasy football “by the numbers” can provide a fun way to supplement the concept. Lesson Plan: Promotion – MiLB Name Game (New)
One popular trend with Minor League Baseball teams the last few years has been a “one-off” rebrand in which the team changes its name, logo and uniform for one game with a food-centric theme, typically a “cuisine” that represents their local area. The promotions helped teams to sell tickets, create buzz surrounding the brand, connect with the community and break merchandise sales records. In this fun activity, students will review concepts like industry trends, branding, licensing, merchandising and promotion.
